Fall 2010
Hello, wish you all had a great Thanksgiving time @ home, @ work or wherever you spent your dinner. For me, I just spent it @ home with my family, that day I had to work all day until 5 pm so I was not feeling like hosting a big party (i love to have parties at home), so well, my family cooked the traditional turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and a delicious sweet potatoe pie! (I don't like pumpkin pie at all), also, we were watching Karate Kid with Jaden Smith and Toy Story 3, the first movie was awesome, but the second one actually made me cry (I can't believe that there will be that day that my son will grow up and leave me to go to college, or somewhere else by himself, and follow his dreams. When I saw Andy's mom crying in his empty bedroom I shared a tear:( my children were watching the movie with me, so it was a fantastic time :)
I went to sleep around midnite because I planned to go shopping on black Friday at 3:00 am in the morning, well my son invited his girlfriend to come with us, my little tween stayed at home because it was very cold outside brrrr! (finally!), so well we were all around town (cruising around) and we found great deals, others not just a great deal (specially if you don't read the fine print in the very back of the offer, which can turn around the offer to feel like a scam, like when they over price the items a day before the big sale, it was really bad!!) Well, I forgot about all that ridiculous offer., and went to retail store to buy clothes and shoes, had great specials and well, honestly I will do it again next year!!
My week @ College:
Since last week we were drawing human figure, my professor brought us a male model, and it was awesome, we had such a cool night learning how to draw from live model, and to capture the model was kind of challenging because its different when u have the image on your mind than trying to render it from live.
Also, we had still to keep working on the last assigment for the end of the semester, my teacher asked us to do a composition with objects that belongs to us or someone else, that represents the person in simbolic way, well, i tried to do it with my grandmas (who meant a lot to me, she was like my second mother), she advised me to redo the composition thumbnail because there were so many small objects, so I will work on it again this weekend and then, well we have to speed it up to have it ready for critique in 2 weeks!
I had my 3rd test in my math class about graphing and equations, it was very dificult for me because is very complicated at the beginning, but I'll keep practicing and I will be able to complete my test and don't leave it in blank!
This weekend I've had to finish my essay project for my English class and is about a topic of our choice, so I decided to write about "Everyday Addictions". I am still working on it but, the main idea is about the online social websites, playing online games and texting -driving thing that is becoming such a big problem in the society.
Today was our final critique, and I didn't have enough time to do a good drawing, added to that I was feeling very sad about my grandma :(, exhausted with new position at work, thanksgiving, black Friday, farewell party from the call center, etc..but I took some pics from our last night at the art studio.
This one was inspired in my grandma, I will redo it again, I was feeling very sad when I was doing the sketch with the objects that make me think of her....

Final Critique was cool, so this was our last day @ class, I really enjoyed what I learned with our awesome professor.
This is one of my drawings of the male model that we had during class, it was challenging, and I learned a lot of human figure.
My former team from call center organized me a Chalupa Lunch for my farewell to the retail location to work as a teller, I will be surely missing you all. They made this awesome potluck, tasty rice, chalupas and dark chocolate cake!!!

This is a self portrait when I was young, I see myself like a lonely girl thinking about her future and leaving the past behind to start a brand new life!!!
